resting

I have a couple days off from work. I am delighted. It will be wonderful to catch up on sleep.

Work whineries are winding down slightly. The time off will help them all keep their heads on straight. Or straighten their heads on their shoulders, whichever.

Wedding plans are coming along. We spoke to the priest who will marry us,providing he does not get transferred. Our area cannot seem to keep priests, and many churches do not have a priest at all. Anyway, we have a pre-marital course to take in April. The priest said that once in a while you will have a couple who will do the counselling and decide not to get married. One such instance occured last weekend.

We wanted to book a DJ, but our area only has one listed. He charges $550, and small-time bands charge between $200-$300. That's a big chunk of change! Especially if people decide not to stay for the dance. We were referred to someone who DJ's just for the fun of it, rather than for the profit, and he charges $150. So if we keep looking, who knows, we might find someone even cheaper than that.

Do you know that basic photography packages for weddings in this area range from $600 to $900? For less than 200 photos, an album, and no rights to the photos? Ri.di.cu.lous. In my opinion.

In other news, we are getting hit with a snowstorm tomorrow. Although I am not really convinced that 2cm-5cm of snow really qualifies as a storm. Not after being hit with 30cm of snow and high winds in the last two storms.

If you don't like snow, don't live in Canada.
